Garden Bloggers' Muse Day - August

Carolyn over at Sweet Garden and Home Chicago has started the poetry circle of Garden Bloggers' Muse Day. On the first day of the month. If a muse takes hold of you please join us by posting on your blog a poem and then go to Carolyn's blog and leave a comment so we can all enjoy your muse.

When I see this ocean of lavender monarda I am so entertained by all the bees, wasps, butterflies that are drawn to it as I am.
Emily Dickinson must have had such a muse. She always has something to say about most everything in the most interesting way...

South Winds jostle them-

Bumblebees come -

Hover - hesitate -

Drink, and are gone -

Butterflies pause

On their passage Cashemere -

I - softly plucking,

Present them here!

  6. That is a beautiful, healthy bed of monarda. I'll bet you are entertained every day by the little visitors.

Excellent poem Emily had a love and understanding of nature. I never really appreciated her until I became a gardener.

  9. Dear Lisa,
Garden Blogger's Muse Day is a charming idea! Often a poem will pop into my mind and stay until I write it down.
The female Tiger Swallowtail, in her black dress, is gorgeous! Beautiful stand of Monarda.
Last year the bees and the butterflies loved mine. This year only bees.
    Happy August and
    New Sunflower Moon!
