Gardening Themed Ornaments

Carol over at May Dreams Gardens has been posting some of her ornaments that have a garden theme. I must say I have a few ornaments that have that theme. I have them on a lighted garland in my room. My DB suggested that I put them there. He doens't think they are too christmasy but I just love them. I have an assortment of frogs on the garland. This being the current favorite. She just looks like she is ready for the holidays. I don't know how I got to collecting frogs but they are a good part of the garden.Of course you need a few work implements. I am always on the search of the best of gardening tools.
I have several bugs in the garden garland. Some of them beneficial...Some not so beneficial. They are all intersting to me.Here is the the only chicken I have in my garden garland. It is one more chicken that I don't have in my real garden.

  3. Hi Lisa,

Your ornaments make me laugh. I like them!

One of my trees is silver and gold with a few birds...

On my other tree, I hang "memory ornaments" and a collection of FISH. I love frogs and intend on collecting ornaments of sparkling
pond life, birds, dragonflies...all to decorate a year-round tree in my sunroom.

Enjoy getting ready for the big day, Lisa!

  4. These are just great--and are inciting 'garden ornament lust' in me! They're beautiful, like jewels for a tree or wreath.

  5. Thank you Sherry.

Hi Carol, you are always good for an interesting idea for garden blogging no matter what the weather. ;)

I am glad you like them Mary. I haven't seen many (any) fish ornaments. I am ready and waiting for the big day.

Hi Jodi. Carol started this lustful venture. I have a weakness for garden ornaments, actually any ornament that tickles my fancy. I think my nature loving side dominates my choices. I do have a bower bird facination with the shiny and bright. :)

Thank you WG and Merry Christmas to you too.

  6. Lisa, what amazingly beautiful ornaments! I'm especially fond of the frog, snail and rooster. Each has significance for me. My dear mother adored frogs and used to collect all manner of them. When I packed up and removed everything from her home after she died this year, I kept some of her frogs. (I also wrote about frogs in my last post -- real ones, that is).

And roosters, well I just love chickens and roosters and fondly recall awaking to the rooster's call every morning when I was a child, and then collecting eggs during the day.

Thanks for the wonderful trip down memory lane and for sharing those lovely ornaments of yours!

Merry Christmas to you and yours,

  7. My favorite is the dragonfly; love those colors!

I'm a traditionalist, and have used the same ornaments for many years. So many of mine are things my kids or I have made.

  8. I find it amazing how festive people can get with ornaments all over the house. Your garland is charming, especially the beneficial bugs.

  11. Oh, I do love your ornaments. Hard to pick a favorite, but I'm tempted by that froggie. She looks like she's out on the town for sure. ;-)

Have yourself a Very Merry Christmas!
