What with the magnolia blooming and a few red tulips I was thinking our garden was beginning to look quite lively when my DB made the remark that we have lots of yellow in the garden now. Hmmmmm See there is another color other than yellow. These tulips are only about six inches high. They almost get lost in the bed. I hate to move them because I think they have reproduced here. This area is a difficult area to get anything to grow in.What with the daffodils and the forsythia blooming up a storm there is quite a bit of yellow. Some of the narcissus do throw a shot of orange into the mix.
I hope your weekend is bright despite what the weather might be throwing at you.
Lisa, You have so much color in the garden already! I like the red tulips with the yellow daffodils--a great jolt of color to start spring. You seem so far ahead of us; I know it will be weeks before I have all these blooms, although a couple daffodils look almost ready to open. Rain and colder temps are on their way here, but I won't complain after having this last beautiful week.
ReplyDeleteI quite like the yellow but with a dash of other colors mixed in. Just plain yellow is kind of blinding... But I'd love to have those daffs in a single row! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spring blooms! I haven't seen tulip buds yet, but with the temperature being in the mid-sixties right now, it won't be long.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa.....yellow is good, it is spring after all, and spring is generally very yellow...
ReplyDeleteLove the little red tulips......mine get lost in the beds to, the previous owner planted them.....
Thanks for the splashes of yellow (and red!). Your garden is lovely already.
ReplyDeleteThose yellow touches really set things off nicely .. now if ours would bloom soon ? : )
ReplyDeleteWow, you have a lot of great flowers up already. I love that last narcissus.
ReplyDeleteI love those colors. Spring is subtle yet intense. Great stuff. I love the orange of the daff, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful snapshot of your lovely tulips. I with they would grow here but I've never had too terrible much luck with them.
ReplyDeleteI could almost smell Spring in the air looking at thhhhhese pics :)
Take good care and.......

Yellow is a good color for spring. I'd prefer it to red any day. My daffs are just starting to bloom, no sign of tulips, yet, but the forsythia are now blooming. It's spring!

Spring has certainly sprung in your yard!! They all look beautiful. And think of all the subjects you can paint.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to have all those blooming flowers already!
ReplyDeleteLisa, the yellows are beautiful. Such a bright and cherry color. I do like the red tulips. They must be an early variety. Mine are a long way from blooming-as are my daffodils. I should plant some earlies this fall. Enjoy your lovely gardens!
ReplyDeleteI think your garden is just beautiful Lisa, yellow or no. :c)
ReplyDeleteVery nice to see the tulips and daffodils. I can't wait and the snow is finally gone.
ReplyDeleteYellow is so cheery and really says 'spring'! It is also the best against a blue, spring sky.
ReplyDeleteThat magnolia a lovely. Sort of like a canopy of spring hanging over the yard.

Your garden is lovely, Lisa. I quite like the yellow of your beautiful forsythia. It reminds me very fondly of our gardens in Missouri.
ReplyDeleteLisa,
ReplyDeleteYellow is my very favorite color in the garden. It's such a happy color!
Your garden is so colourful at this time of year. Love your photos and flowers
ReplyDeletelovely yellow blooms Lisa. Yellow is one of my favorite colors in the garden. I also have lots of yellow (and pink, which is not a color I like in any other place than the garden)
ReplyDeleteLisa -- I love your yellow in the garden. And the red looks so striking against it as well. I was surprised to realize this year that I have lots of yellow in my garden as well. I am not sure I planned it that way, it just ended up that way. I must like yellow -- you, too!
ReplyDeleteLisa, What a beautiful Spring you're already enjoying! Yea! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of spring color. Lucky you! Your garden is looking lovely.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see our daffs bright yellow faces :)
Lovely flowers, I especially love the bottom two.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa:)
You're right not to move these lovely red tulips. When they reproduce they probably like the place. In a few years the bed will be full of red :-) !!
