Skywatch Friday - 3/13/09

We went out in the early evening this week to try to hear and see American Woodcocks doing their spring song and dance. The sun was setting amongst the clouds. It didn't make for a very pretty sunset.A little later the clouds started lining up in rows.
It almost appeared like someone was folding up the clouds for the night. Then the moon started playing peek a boo behind the clouds.
For more sky watching from all around the world go here. Have a wonderful weekend.

  4. Gintoino, we didn't get the Woodcocks. We did see and hear some Snipe. They also have such unusual songs and flights.

  5. Nice SWF photos!

The moon last night reflected on the frozen cove off our back yard. It was surreal.

  8. I think these sky photos look beautiful! The moon was gorgeous last night, but I can't take decent moon shots. The weather forecast for next week is looking really good--maybe some garden chores will finally get done here:)

  10. Your words and pictures are like poetry Lisa!

I love all the images here on Greenbow...they are a delight for the eyes!

The eagles nest shots are wonderful. I'm always amazed how big they are...and yet...the camera just does not translate the size. Your shots are some of the best I have seen that give an idea of the scale.

  11. Lisa, I love the way you described the clouds, 'folding them'. And you always manage to get such good shots of the moon! Have a great weekend.
