As you can see this Abutilon has one bloom and one bud to show for Bloom Day. I highly recommend this plant if you have some partial sun to grow it in outside. It also makes a great indoor plant during winter, if you keep it watered. When I brought this beauty inside this fall it started blooming more than it did while outside. I think it was because it had been sitting in such a densly shaded spot. It likes the winter sun that the decidious trees allows in.
I hope you have a wonderful Bloom Day. For more blooms on this cold January day, or if you have blooms to share go to Carol's May Dreams Garden.
Lisa, I love the color of the first bloom. Something that bright will certainly brighten up the gloomiest of days. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, that orange abutilon is refreshingly bright! Perfect to perk up a bloom day. The white is pristine and lovely, glad you have flowers today! :-)

Aren't abutilons lovely? My only problem with them is that they seem to attract aphids and spider mites, although this year I have no visiting infestations to report at the moment (touch wood).
ReplyDeleteHOW many months do we have left to go before spring???
Lisa girl you have some gorgeous blooms here ! I love the white-ness ? !! of those flowers .. so fresh and energizing .. I should have a truck load here to make me wake up and feel better ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have always wondered about the red one too .. very pretty indeed !

hello Lisa! Happiest of Bloom Days to you...Love the abutilons. They do seem to be the flower of winter indoor bloom. Should I give them a try? Gail ps your mr linky link took me to May Dreams Gardens not here!
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative way to present the narcissus! Abutilon is something I need to check into.
ReplyDeleteThat red is so bright and cheerful this time of year. I always mean to buy some paper whites to force and never remember till way too late.

Hi, Lisa;
ReplyDeleteFirst time visitor... a picture perfect white flower! I just love how pretty and delicate that one is, though all of your flowers are very cheery. Happy GBBD.
Two beautiful blooms Lisa.
ReplyDeleteHaving an indoor garden is an excellent idea at this time of year......a gentle reminder of what is to come........
The abutilon is perfect for this gloomy day! I will have to look into finding one of these this spring. Hope the snow is melting where you are and have a happy Bloom Day!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried to grow Abutilon, but I like the form of the flowers. I don't blame you for wanting to hang on to the Paperwhite blooms. I'd have included mine had they still been blooming.
ReplyDeletethis is a great looking little beauty. we are having our crocuses and daffodils blooming inside right now and it adds so much to the dull days of winter.
ReplyDeletehappy january.
That narcissus made my day. Up and down, it made my day. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA couple of great blooms, Lisa. I kinda partial to the narcissus too.
ReplyDeleteOK, Lisa - many Austin gardenbloggers grow Abutilon outside, but mine croaked. After seeing your beautiful bloom, maybe I'll act like a Hoosier and keep it outdoors in summer, inside in winter!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blooming Day ~

ReplyDeleteMy Abutilons usually bloom like mad when I first bring them in for the winter. They aren't blooming at the moment though. Glad you were inspired to bring yours in. It's such a cheery color :)
ReplyDeleteI love your paperwhite blooms and can't wait to see mine.
You have some lovely foliage plants too.
Lunar sure looks pretty against the snow. Looks like she's feeling good.
Our Jasmine is ill at the moment, poor thing, but seems to be improving today, thank heavens.
I don't seem to do well with abutilon, though I do love them Like Jodi, I have had bug problems, and with bugs, if the bugs are persistent, I will toss rather than treat.
ReplyDeleteThis winter is going fast--at least it seems so to me.
Say, Lisa, you should do more tazettas. They can be kept going in succession through February.
