  4. Hi Lisa, love the trout lily! I was surprised to see on one my 2 forsythias in bloom this year. I'd pruned them both way way back to move them last spring and wasn't expecting blooms this year. Happy Easter! (I've eaten half my rabbit!)

  14. Thank you, Lisa--and a belated Happy Easter to you, too. The Easter Bunny managed to bring more chocolate than the grandkids' baskets could hold, so of course, someone had to eat the excess:)

  17. Lisa, your garden looks wonderful! I love that forsythia and the magnolia trees. Are those small white flowers the blood root? I don't think I have seen those before. Is it a bulb?? What ever, they are gorgeous.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter!!

  22. The bloodroot is so cute, too! You asked about your winter sowing jugs... I've noticed that things in flats tend to sprout earlier than things in jugs, I think because it's warmed int he flats with the clear lids and greater surface area for sun to get in. Plus, it takes the soil while to warm up. Everything I sowed in jugs was really more spring sowing, and some is up already. Your (screwtop) lids are off, right? And your soil looks moist but not moldy?
