Garden Bloggers Bloom Day - March 2011

While the sun was out Saturday I took a few pictures of the flowers blooming in my garden for today. Carol encourages us all to post what flowers are blooming on the 15th of each month. I have few to report today. What is blooming I am so pleased to see.  Like this Lady in Red Hellebore.
This freckled one I have forgotten the name of but I think those freckles are so cheery.
This one is sort of plain but it has such a sweet delicate quality belying the toughness of the plant. After all its leaves are green all winter. Just needing a little trim of the dead leaves to be able to fully enjoy their bashful blossoms.
We have some of the Prince at the top of this photo with buds set. It wants a little warmer weather before it opens all these buds. Not so with the crocus. All it needed was a little sun to encourage them to open. Look at the bottom of this picture. Why it's....
My first pollinator of the year. Yipee. I just know it won't be long now until the garden is buzzing.
Is there anything blooming and/or buzzing in your garden yet?

Hey,

I wish I had so many Hellebores in bloom, mine just don't seem to like my garden...

Lovely photos, very jealous!

Really like your Hellebores; that is a plant group which I need to consider expanding in my garden (I only have the plain, white variety).

How exciting to see that first bee! Yes, your garden will be buzzing with activity soon. Love the hellebores--I'm hoping to see a few blooms here, too, soon.

I really like the freckled Hellebore, too -- and, of course, I think the combination of bugs and flowers is unbeatable. Great shots, Lisa. Thanks for letting us have a look too.

Lisa, the sun and your delightful blooms really do give me hope that soon my garden will come back to life. Even the bug seems to be thrilled to find some warmth and food. Now, I am going to see if the hellebores you gave me are making any kind of appearence. :)

Lisa, your Hellebores are beautiful! I wish I had more. I'm hoping my other Hellebore, as yet a non-bloomer, will finally surprise me with a bloom in this, its 3rd or 4th spring, and show me what color it is.
Those crocuses are so cheerful and lucky you to have a bee already! None to be seen here yet.
Always lovely to hear from you. Thanks for visiting :)

Gorgeous Hellebores Lisa! I love them and recently my dad has discovered them too. He doesn't know it yet, but tomorrow he's going to get his first Hellebore.

I love the speckled Hellebore too; just something so cheery about that little face!

I'm holding my breath. I have a Hellebore that I think is going to make it. 3rd try. It's no where near big enough to bloom.
Lots of buzzing going on here. Those little bumbles are everywhere. I did pet one the other morning while it was sleeping.

Love the freckled bloom probably because they covered my face as a kid. I prefer my helleborus with a little spice like it which I think is a nice foil for the darkest color varieties.

Wonderful, Lisa! I love the speckled too but I'm also a new fan of crocus as you know.

Lisa girl I love seeing your hellebore ! I hope to see the buds on my open a little? soon? It is still like winter here .. no snow on the ground but the cold temps make the Spring bulbs hide a little longer .. let alone getting the garden cleaned up ! eekk !
It is a treat to see your blossoms girl : )
