Sudden Cold

Oops. Didn't get the fountain ready for this weather. I guess I didn't believe it would drop to 20F with a feels like 11F so soon.
Made a believer out of me.
I hope you all keep warm and have a good weekend.

  1. Gosh Lisa that's a big drop. Brrr!!
Your fountains looks very pretty though :)

It is very wet here. We had torrential rain overnight.
It was beating so hard it kept me awake.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

  2. Yikes! That was sudden. Your frozen fountain is lovely.
It's supposed to be sunny here this weekend and cold (for us) with highs in the 40's.

    1. I am hoping that tomorrow it will be that warm so I can dig out my pump and get it taken care of for the season.

    1. I hope not either Sue. It is way too early for this.

  4. I hope the fountain isn't damaged! We're cooler again but unfortunately that hasn't put an end to our wildfires.

    1. Exactly what I was thinking Kris. I hope the pump isn't broken now. I don't know if it will thaw enough to get it out today or not. I hope those wildfires don't turn your way. Scary.

  5. Lisa girl what can I say ... we have all been there at some time , so you are NOT alone ! LOL .. what a pretty picture it makes even though it catches you off guard .. don't worry there is always a break before the BIG freeze arrives, you will get it done!
Garden PA got his done a few weeks ago and I am so glad that was out of the way. Just think how wonderful it will be when it is running again next year .. it is such a pretty fountain ! Good Luck girl !

    1. We had our first snow last night. It was a mere trace. The hellebores had white hats.

    1. It turned out ok. The pump is now put away for the winter as is the fountain.

  8. Yeah a little bit of a shock here as well to wake up to a skim of ice on the birdbath. It didn't look as nice as your fountain though!
I'm ok with things warming up for a little while still. Although it poured on Friday, Saturday and Sunday were sunny and dry and even with the cold it was great to be outside for once!

    1. Yes it warmed up enough for me to get the pump out and properly cover the fountain for the winter. Then it snowed a bit.

  9. Oh my goodness. Have never seen such a thing. Here the dry winds make all the water evaporate out of fountains. That kills the pumps, too.

  10. Even colder this morning, 19 degrees! Fortunately I had put away our water fountain.
