April sure did live up to the old saying of April Showers Bring May Flowers. We got more than our share of rain in April. I am not complaining because the garden and everything in it has responded well.
Come on in and have a quick look around.
The grass paths are green as can be. Every plant around is greening up too.
There is a bit of whimsy on the patio this year. I don't normally get too excited about tropical plants but since we went to Costa Rica this spring the Cloud Forests, Rain Forests and tropical plants in general gave me the inspiration to try to make the patio a tropical paradise. It is coming along.
The green plastic parrot planter reminded me of the Green Macaws we saw.
Some of the other paths are looking quite jungle like.
It is just so comforting to see all this green after a long winter.
Flower beds are filling up. Golden Alexander is so pretty with it's color of sunshine on a cloudy day.
Out front there is lots of blooms happening.
The Iris parade has begun.
The weeping spruce is making cones.
I hope you all are able to get out in the garden to watch all the early spring commotion. Just sit back like Annie and enjoy the surroundings in between chores.
Lisa ~ What a garden of delight! ~ Handsome doggie too !

Thanks Carol.
DeleteThe irises look lovely. Annie wouldn’t be sitting comfortably here as it has turned very cold.
ReplyDeleteIt is cool here too Sue. I can't say cold but very cool. I hope we are finished with the cold temps.
DeleteAnnie looks very comfortable. Your Iris and indeed your whole garden look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you HB.
DeleteSpring looks to be off to a great start in your garden, Lisa! That's one splendid parade of Iris. And Costa Rica! Do you have photos to share?
ReplyDeleteI will be sharing some photos when I get the nerve to wade through the nearly 10,000 pictures that we took. We travel to bird so a lot of pictures are birding pictures. I am not a great photographer and most people probably wouldn't like to see too many bird photos so I will try to be selective.
DeleteWow! It all looks so lush.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spring green with just enough colors too!

It's fun to see some of your garden. We are not at iris bloom time yet.
ReplyDeleteThe iris along the driveway look great, what a border!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the tropical patio as it grows. Big leaves are one of my favorite things in the summer :)
Wow your garden is certainly coming alive. I love the weeping spruce...what an unusual bloom. How did you like Costa Rica? Hubby thinks it would be a delightful place to retire. Not sure I would agree but maybe after I visit I will change my mind. Take care and happy gardening.
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you and your doggie visit and lovely photos of your garden!

Nice to see your garden Lisa. It's so cozy and clean, I did not do because of cold weather, I collected all tender plants in the greenhouse. I like your Iris parade and grass paths.
ReplyDeleteHappy week!
Hello Lisa, after enjoying your post about Iris I wrote an appreciative comment and received a very odd reply from someone calling themselves the outlaw gardener. Not quite sure what has happened here but my intention was as I described.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry this happened but have no idea how as this is the first time I've seen this comment.
DeleteRosanna, I am sorry you got an odd reply. I don't see it on my blog at this time. I am sure the OUtlaw Gardener I know doesn't do such things. It must have been someone that saw his moniker and decided to use it.
