Sky Watch Friday

This morning as we were heading out to bird we could see the sun coming up and the front that brought another 3 inches of rain was moving on to the east. It made an interesting sky so I decided to participate in the Friday Skywatch that Tom hosts each Friday. Another view of the front moving out with the Baptist Church down the street in the foreground. Marvin over at Three Steps Forward also has an interesting building in his sky.Happy Weekend to you all...

  3. Looks stunning Lisa, the sky never looks right when I try and photograph it, must be my settings.

  4. It's always so cool to actually see the edge of a front coming in. Great shot Lisa!

  5. Wow, Lisa, those are dramatic photos. They don't leave much doubt as to where the frontal boundary is, do they. Great shots.

  6. Lisa,
I love the composition and the quality of light. The church seems to emerge from the cloud in the bottom photo.

I didn't realize you were a Sky Watcher. I'll catch you around the neighborhood!

  7. Amazing is just what I thought when I saw it NG.

Cheryl yes it was moody. You could almost feel the mood.

All the Scary part was on its way east Jane Marie. All is well here.

Mike, AUTO does all of my settings. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I was just lucky with this shot. We were driving down the highway when I snapped this picture too.

    Thanks Jayne.

Thanks Marvin. This was awesome to see. You could almost see how heavy these clouds are.

Sandy that church seems to be having a blanket of cloud pulled off of it. That blanket was very wet I must say.

I don't normally post sky pictures. I am more of a lurker on that theme but this one I couldn't resist since it turned out so well.

  9. Wow, what a great looking sky. I didn't know you were doing this and I had just posted a double rainbow from last nite. Guess I was doing it by ESP :)

  11. That's almost the sky we had Sunday--with a clear edge that looked like you could choose to be under clouds or sun.
