Turkey

No this turkey isn't for Easter dinner it is a picture for Shadow Shot Sunday. Where you can go see more shadows here.
He/she is wondering what you are looking at.
Either a young male or a female. I think a young male because it wasn't very smart. It would have been a hunters dream to have a turkey cross a field and them saunter past where the hunter was await a shot. It was lucky this time that this hunter only carries a camera.
I hope you have a Hoppy Easter. Don't eat too much candy...unless it is chocolate.

  1. Youngsters of whatever sex are not known for their great wisdom, are they? Great shadows! And may this one--he or she--live to see many more days!

    1. Yes, they are normally skittish. This bird must have been young adult. It didn't act like normal turkeys. I think it is the closest I have ever been to one. We sat quietly in our truck and watched in walk right past us.

  4. The only ones we are likely to see are on farms or on the supermarket.

  5. It's a great capture, Lisa! No wild turkeys here but we occasionally get juvenile peacocks after they've been thrown out of their family groups. They're also foolhardy creatures.

  7. That's remind me into my childhood. We had a couple of turkey, then they grew and multiplied, always made a noise every time they were in hunger.

  10. All I got was 2 dark chocolate kisses. What with the lockdown candy and junk food isn't as easy to come by. Of course we observe both easter and passover so I also got a piece of chocolate-covered motza.

  11. I had a chuckle over the fact it was a young male because it wasn't very smart. Having raised three sons, I can attest to the fact that that trait is not limited to turkeys!
