Skywatch Friday

No this isn't snow, under the blue skies this week the Spring Beauties are blooming. Doesn't it make a beautiful affect?? No matter where you look in this park it appears that snow is on the ground. I just love seeing this especially with those blue skies and sunshine. Have a great weekend.

  2. Beautiful Lisa...Do you have them in your lawn? My goal is to add Spring Beauties to the new grassy area! They are everywhere in our neighborhood...except on my shallow cedar glade land! Have a wonderful weekend! gail

  7. My yoshino trees were beautiful for about two days before rains and high winds pretty much destroyed them. The "pink snow" was thick everywhere.

  11. Gorgeous! I love the petals under the trees. They look like ponds of pink on the grass.

Whenever I see spring blossoms falling to the ground, I think of the scene from the movie Excalibur when the knights are riding through the blossom-laden trees.

  12. Hi Gail,

I have a few in my North Garden. My neighbor has them all over their lawn. I snitched a few from there and got them started. It must take a long time to get something that looks like the pictures I took because the ones I have haven't reproduced very fast.

  14. That's beautiful, Lisa.
When our lawn is covered in blossoms like that I hate to think of mowing--until the blooms are far and faded.
    They're such a happy sight.

  16. Spring beauties indeed! We're probably 6 weeks or more from spring beauties, but now I believe that spring IS coming.

  17. I love petals on the lawn! Tucker says 'hey' to Luna. Did she get to run in this park?

  18. Layanee, Luna thinks Tucker is quite handsome. She is a bit young for him. She is only 6. She doesn't get to run at this park. It is by busy streets with no fencing.

  22. Oh what enchantment! We used to have those in our lawn at my childhood home and we would lay in them, watch out for bees! We don't have any here for some reason. I miss them. Thanks for showing the carpet of flowers.

  25. Last spring, I discovered a spring beauty in my moss garden that must have hopped the fence because I did not plant it. I put a little wire cage around it so I would not step on it and could find it this spring. Can't imagine a whole "lawn" of them!

  26. Wonderful, Lisa. I can't think of anywhere around here I'd see a carpet of blossom like that.
