The Lurie garden downtown Chicago was full of color drawing you through the garden.
Of course the best thing about the Spring Fling was meeting the writers behind the blogs. Here I have Frances, Tena (my Sister), Gail and I at the Cloud Gate in Millinium Park. An appropriate place to start the weekend because I felt like my head was in the clouds with all these marvelous places and beautiful people I got to see and get to know.

I want to thank the Chicago Gardeners that got together and organized this event. They did a marvelous job.
Hi Lisa, whew, what a weekend, right? It was fabulous to meet you and the vivacious Tena. That first night was some of the most fun, thanks to you two. I look forward to seeing your take on the event. There will be photos on my blog of you and your sister, hope that is allright. All very flattering of course. :-)

I have so enjoyed 'meeting' you all through your photos and posts! I love seeing the 'fling' through each of your unique perspectives and views through the lenses! What a wonderful time you must have had, meeting bloggers you've never met but already 'know'...and seeing some old friends as well.
ReplyDeleteLisa, I was so excited to finally get to meet you this past weekend! And thanks for putting up with my driving--did I mention I don't see well at night?:)
ReplyDeleteI think my head is still spinning from everything we saw and did. It's really interesting to see different bloggers' perspectives on Spring Fling--the Lurie Garden and the poppy field seem to have made an impression on all of us. Beckie and I went back to the Lurie Sunday morning and also visited the "Bean" before leaving. I'm saving my pennies for Buffalo!
If you are headed this way sometime, let me know.
I was just sitting thinking how strange is it that you become so familiar with bloggers that you recognize them in the pictures like you've met them before. Sometimes you feel as if you know them.--Randy
ReplyDeleteLisa, It was a joy to meet you and Tena! The train ride is forever in my memory however, the Lurie and Cloud Gate with you, Tena and Frances was an absolute joy. You saw the very similar photo I took of we four....I suspect there will be other ones with Flingers being posted all week! Please come to Tennessee sometime! gail
ReplyDeleteWhat fun seeing you all together and having fun! I'm enjoying hearing about everyone's adventure!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I got to meet you. I really enjoyed having a drink and a great chat with you. Give Luna a hug for me.
ReplyDeleteLisa, it was great to meet you, Tena and Beckie, as well as all the other garden bloggers! Hope to see a picture of that fabulous Hosta from MMD once it's planted and settled in!
ReplyDeleteDear Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying the posts about Spring Fling.
Meeting everyone must have been delightful!

Lisa, it was great to meet you at SF. I only wish we'd had more time to talk. Next year! Weren't the Lurie and the CBG amazing?
ReplyDeleteLisa, I am still on a high from this past weekend! It felt almost like a family reunion. :0 The gardens were all spectacular and we really could have spent much longer in each one. A good reason for a weekend back to Chicago.
ReplyDeleteIt's rather overwhelming, isn't it, Lisa? I'm still wading through my photos and posting about the weekend's events. I'm only on Friday night's reception!
ReplyDeleteIt was great to see you again so soon after just meeting you here two weeks before. And so nice to meet your sister, Tena!
I wish we'd all had more time to spend with each other. There was just so much to see and do!
What an incredible place. Amazing. Thanks for sharing these. The sculpture, the flowers, the lovely ladies--all great.
ReplyDeleteWell, Lisa… without even looking at your photos I saw via Frances that you had a ball on this trip and your sister went too :-D
ReplyDeleteI am guessing you have many photos to sort, keep and share. Looking forward to seeing the trip through the eyes of all the different bloggers who took part. Ah… The Lurie Garden I would like to see for myself one day :-D
Looks like such a glorious place! How fun that you got to meet other Bloggers in the journey. :c)
ReplyDeleteThat Great Blue caught my eye! Isn't it great to meet bloggers - folks you know so well? Meeting so many in West VA was a thrill for me.
ReplyDeleteLisa it was a real pleasure. I could hang with you.
ReplyDeleteLisa - Hope you have recuperated from all that touring. It was so fun to meet you and get to hang out together. I never saw that bird statue, and it's so appropriate that you captured it.
ReplyDeleteLisa thanks for coming up and introducing yourself otherwise I'd probably have never picked you out of the crowd of 50 ! Thanks also for your handpainted note and keepsake which was very thoughtful of you.
ReplyDeleteIt was a pleasure to have you visit my home and garden.
I fell for the purple sea over at Gail's and now at yours, Lisa. I see you had great fun - how exciting it'd have been to be in a botanic garden with garden bloggers! That's such a perfect picnic!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa....the gardens do look great and I love the sweep of purple flowers...stunning.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you were able to meet so many other gardeners. I wish I could have been there with you all, I bet you all had lots of fun together......
Isn't the bean the best? I also loved ChiBot--I've been a few times and still love it. it was great meeting you!
