Spring Fling

Yes, I was out of the garden again this past weekend. However the nature I saw was more tame. I got to see some of the most beautifully displayed gardens I've seen in some time. The Chicago Botanic Garden was one of the most beautiful botanic gardens I have seen. I will do a post about it. I will have lots to post about over time. It was a great experience.
The Lurie garden downtown Chicago was full of color drawing you through the garden.
Of course the best thing about the Spring Fling was meeting the writers behind the blogs. Here I have Frances, Tena (my Sister), Gail and I at the Cloud Gate in Millinium Park. An appropriate place to start the weekend because I felt like my head was in the clouds with all these marvelous places and beautiful people I got to see and get to know.
I want to thank the Chicago Gardeners that got together and organized this event. They did a marvelous job.

  1. Hi Lisa, whew, what a weekend, right? It was fabulous to meet you and the vivacious Tena. That first night was some of the most fun, thanks to you two. I look forward to seeing your take on the event. There will be photos on my blog of you and your sister, hope that is allright. All very flattering of course. :-)

  2. I have so enjoyed 'meeting' you all through your photos and posts! I love seeing the 'fling' through each of your unique perspectives and views through the lenses! What a wonderful time you must have had, meeting bloggers you've never met but already 'know'...and seeing some old friends as well.

  3. Lisa, I was so excited to finally get to meet you this past weekend! And thanks for putting up with my driving--did I mention I don't see well at night?:)
I think my head is still spinning from everything we saw and did. It's really interesting to see different bloggers' perspectives on Spring Fling--the Lurie Garden and the poppy field seem to have made an impression on all of us. Beckie and I went back to the Lurie Sunday morning and also visited the "Bean" before leaving. I'm saving my pennies for Buffalo!

If you are headed this way sometime, let me know.

  4. I was just sitting thinking how strange is it that you become so familiar with bloggers that you recognize them in the pictures like you've met them before. Sometimes you feel as if you know them.--Randy

  11. Lisa, I am still on a high from this past weekend! It felt almost like a family reunion. :0 The gardens were all spectacular and we really could have spent much longer in each one. A good reason for a weekend back to Chicago.

  12. It's rather overwhelming, isn't it, Lisa? I'm still wading through my photos and posting about the weekend's events. I'm only on Friday night's reception!

It was great to see you again so soon after just meeting you here two weeks before. And so nice to meet your sister, Tena!

I wish we'd all had more time to spend with each other. There was just so much to see and do!
