I have the typical fall flowers giving their all right now. The older toad lilies are blooming and the Japanese Aneomones are blooming up a storm.
Yellow Mum
Amazingly the Niko Blue Hydrangea is having another blooming spell.
The Carpet Rose is giving one last bloom or two. I think if it would rain I would have more blooms.
This rudi of some sort died back to the ground when it got so dry here. I cut down what didn't die down and now it is having another little blooming spell.
The annuals are all at their peak. It is lovely now that the heat of the day isn't so hot. If you want to see more blooms go to Carols for the full list of GBBD posters.
Your aneomones look so pretty. Some day I'll have to try them here altho there aren't many that are hardy. Love the mums, they always look so nice this time of year.

I do love Japanese anemones. Can't grow them here, but I'm glad I can see them at Greenbow, Lisa.
ReplyDeleteOh wow Lisa, they are all beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, It is amazing that Nikko is blooming again and we can't grow the stuff here! Lucky you~~It must be very happy in your garden. Isn't anemone lovely! I think a;;bout taking it out and then it blooms! Have a good day~~gail
ReplyDeleteOooh... I love your 'Nikko Blue' hydrangea. And I envy you for having had any hot days this year--in Cleveland, it feels like summer completely passed us by. :(
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms Lisa! I love the anemones, and Nikko Blue is just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some rain soon. After the wettest spring on record here, it's bone dry except for a couple of good rains in August. Looks like I'll have to break down and water here soon.
The 'Nikko Blue' Hydrangea is a beautiful surprise. Your Toadlily is very pretty too. And it wouldn't be fall with the Japanese Anemones.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are all so pretty Lisa. Do you spend a lot of time each day watering them?
ReplyDeleteYours is about the fifth post featuring some fall anemones, Lisa; this makes me want to go out and buy some for next year! I do envy you that blue hydrangea--do you add anything to it to keep it blue? I always forget and wind up with pink blooms, or at best, lavender:)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back, Lisa! I've missed you this past week.
I've never tried growing the anemones and I think they are very nice.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, your garden is having a resurgence. What a triumph to have a new hydrangea bloom, a cause for celebration! :-)

Lisa -- Love that Hydrangrea bloom - what an amazing color. I couldn't grow those in a million years. Yours is stunning.
ReplyDeleteRuthie, I only water when I have to. Lately it has been a couple of times per week. We haven't had more than a half inch of rain since the middle of August. The ground is cracking. UGH... It gets like this a lot of the time during the end of summer.
ReplyDeleteRose, I always want to add supplements to the blues but I don't usually get it done. These Nikos are planted where there used to be pine trees. I guess the pines put lots of acid into the ground with their pine needles.
I sure did enjoy all these rich colors. Our are fading, so I enjoyed this dose of vibrancy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful blooms!
ReplyDeletethese are all lovely but i like the anemones best! i'll have to plant some. are they annuals? i'm thinking you plant bulbs?
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice collection of Fall flowers! Your tricyrtis blossom has little green streaks in the petals. Thanks for sharing!! :-)
ReplyDeleteLisa, what a lovely assortment of bright blooms you have for mid-September.
ReplyDeleteI love the J. Anemones! Your hydrangea is still looking beautiful.
I must try the toadlilies. Yours is so pretty.
Happy Bloom Day!
Lisa, I am such a mum lover-yours are beautiful. And after seeing your toadlily last year, I planted one. It's finally blooming too!
ReplyDeleteYou sound as dry as we are. In fact I watered all my beds for the first time this year.
Glad you made it back and got to post. Hope you and DB are doing okay.
I love those toad lilies--I used to have some and don't know what happened to them. They are so sweet!
