Fabulous Foliage Follow Up - May 2013

I was sitting on the patio with my Sister the other day. When she said to me, " you have so much to look at out here". I have never thought of it that way. It is interesting to look at one's garden through the eyes of others.
After hearing her remark I thought that maybe I have something to contribute to Pam's Foliage Follow Up. This is the view from the chairs where my Sister and I were sitting. I am so glad you are able to sit here with me. I hope you enjoy the view.

  1. A lovely view it is. We do get used to seeing our gardens and nothing looks unique or interesting --- until someone new points out how nice it all is. Your sister was right!

  5. Lovely combination, I really like fern planted with hosta. It usually surprises me to hear others comment on the garden and point out something that is beautiful to them. I seem so focused sometimes on the things that aren't done that I overlook the beauty.

  7. Thats why I love to have company come to see my gardens. They make me appreciate it more by seeing what they see. Altho right now I am pretty much aware of the beauty going on in it. My Roses are in their first full spring bloom and its breath taking. Your garden is lovely too.

  19. It is a good thing to sometimes see a garden (or anything else!) through the eyes of someone else. It can give new inspiration and often more thankfulness for that we have. Your sister is right. The look you had when sitting there is indeed very lovely.
    Enjoy your garden! Barbara

  21. Lovely leaves, Lisa! The majority of my plantings are relatively new... some sleeping, some creeping, none yet leaping. Can't wait to see my goodies fill out lush like yours.
