Wednesday Vignette - Spring meeting Fall

In this vignette you can see that the Columbine leaves are turning the colors of the Aster directly behind it. It must be that the Autumnal Aster is smitten with the Columbine and she is blushing.

  1. That is fabulous! It's the kind of image that someone would see on Pinterest and think they could replicate it. Ha! Good thing you took a photo as it is liable to never happen again. My columbine leaves don't do anything that attractive.

    1. I don't remember this happening before. This has been an odd year of gardening. The chemistry must be just right.

  2. Ooh, that's lovely! Like Linda's, my Columbines aren't doing anything like it either. They just look dry and tattered. Maybe with the rain we'll hopefully get soon, they will perk up again. :)

    1. This area doesn't get extra water often. Maybe the drought did this.

  5. Hey that's a great look, I wish a few of my plants would color coordinate on their own!
Maybe it had something t do with the summer heat? It's blushing with relief now that things are cooler and the rain is back :)

  6. It is very pretty yet peculiar. I don't know what caused it. the rest of my columbine are their regular tatty selves.

    1. This is the every day Aquilegia canadensis. Must be something in the soil. We haven't been anywhere near a frost. It must be showing off some. Have a great weekend Debbie.
