We just returned from a visit with my In-laws. They are both fine gardeners. My Father-in-law is a Master Gardener and takes care of the outside garden. My Mother-in-law does some fine gardening inside the house. She has a few african violets that are blooming at this time. I thought I would show you a few of her lovely blossoms while we catch up from our trip.
Beautiful AVs, Lisa! I have a couple blooming right now, too. Any blooms at this time of the year are treasured.ReplyDelete
64! It's pretty warm here, too, and I got all my milk jugs ready for wintersowing. Perfect day to do it.
I like the African violets, they are quite pretty. None of mine are blooming right now, unfortunately, and I don't see any buds. I spent part of the afternoon dividing up those with multiple crowns and then started some cuttings from the leaves that had to be cut off. I'm going to have too many African violets very soon!ReplyDelete

Pretty violets, Lisa! It's nice to have gardening in the family. A nice connection.ReplyDelete
I don't have any African violets right now (they're great cathair magnets) and my one streptocarpus is looking pretty bleak after flowering for months on end. But I have cyclamen in bloom with lots of buds to come (they like my cool office) so they'll help get me through--they, and looking and nice blog postings like this.ReplyDelete
what luscious colours. Being fond of white, I adore that white with the perky yellow centre, though they're all a delight. I love African Violets but, as I've mentioned before I have the worst luck with indoor plants. My mother always had luscious AVs in her home. Even my darling cyclamen I bought for myself in November is dying. Thanks for this perky lift!ReplyDelete

Beautiful violets. My grandmother always kept a shelf of them and I've always loved them and have always had one or two myself.ReplyDelete
Beautiful African Violets... but I really love the little garden violets with the hosta (I think?) leaves behind it! Beautiful!ReplyDelete
Awesome violets, Lisa. My kitty is not "indoor plant friendly" so no violets at my house.ReplyDelete
I have a friend who's a Master Gardener and she always lets me take care of her violets and orchids when she goes on vacation. She's leaving Jan. 23 this year--I can hardly wait to visit her plants again.
I am glad you all liked the AV's. They are cheery little fellows. I wouldn't be a very good keeper of the Violets. I don't have very good luck with them.ReplyDelete
What a pretty collection of violets you have!ReplyDelete
Last picture of violet in the garden together with hosta looks amazing.
