One Picture
This picture would make a good wordless wednesday photo only it is thursday. It started raining last evening and it hasn't stopped for long today. Over 2.5" of rain in less than 24 hours. We had just enough time today to go out to the park for a quick walk then the rain began again. Needless to say the house has been dusted and all is neat and tidy. I am ready for a sunny day. It should be good weed pulling the next couple of days.

All I can say it is difficult to deal with change. This new Blogger format is not as user friendly in my opinion. I guess I will get us...
I think I've only gotten 1 1/4 inches of rain here. But stuff seems to be growing inches by the hour, including the weeds!
ReplyDeletehi lisa, wow-that certainly is a lot of rain! it's been raining here too, and i actually went out and pulled up a couple of weeds during a 'dry moment', and they came up so easily. here's hoping sunny skies visit you soon!

ReplyDeleteEverything looks so green and lush here. I'm not sure how much we've received, but it has been raining pretty much all day.
ReplyDeleteI've been cleaning out the closet and doing mountains of laundry. I'm finally putting the winter clothing away and pulling out the summer stuff.

ReplyDeleteIt seems your part of the country doesn't just get a shower or two..you get a whole month's worth in 2 days! At least your not having to water like last year. Have a sunny weekend!

They say April showers bring May flowers, but it seems as if someone forgot to turn the calendar page. Here's hoping for a sunny weekend up your direction. (And down my direction, too.)

You can find one of these rain gauges at Tractor Supply or Rural King. Probably other places too but around here they are sold where farmers supplies are sold.

Meems, I know that there are many places that need this rain. I am not really complaining. I just wish it would spread itself out some.
Oh Wicked, I know this is hard to see when you need some rain so bad.
Hope we have a sunny weekend too Beckie. Or at least a sunny saturday since we are doing a Spring Bird Count in So Il. Can't wait to see results of your shopping day.
You are quite right about the large markings on the gauge Rose. I like it because I don't have to go outside to check if it is still raining.

Whoa.... good weed pulling indeed! We got a little bit, but when it was all said and done, maybe 1/2"?

ReplyDeleteAfter the drought & heat of 1988, I vowed never to complain about rain. When you get that much, it seems you can almost see the grass growing.

We've gotten aound 2 inches I believe. I just cut the grass on Friday and now, because of all this rain, it needs it again. After last summer's dryness, I'm not complaining though!
