In A Vase On Monday - Cooped-up

Since they predicted snow for today I got out yesterday and picked a couple of bouquets for a vase today. I found that these don't smell quite as good as the vase of daffodils last week. They are a cheerful lot though. I wish I had brought in many more of these cheerful faces since it is snowing this morning.
I am like this Cooper's Hawk. I am sitting here this morning with my feet tucked up under me.
Thankful that I have a nice warm home and plenty to eat. Able to stay inside and enjoy these small vases full of nature's bounty.
If you are in need of a cheerful vase full of flowers pop over to Rambling in the Garden where Cathy holds this delightful meme.

    1. Yes, the hawk is sitting on our back gate. It likes to sit there because many House sparrows dive into the shrubs on either side of that gate. They are barberry shrubs which have horrible thorns. It doesn't care sometimes it just dives in after the sparrows. Amazing.

  4. Oh I can just visualise you Lisa! Hope you don't get too much in the way of snow and that you will still have some spring flowers to follow. In the meantime, your daffodils make a sunny contribution

  5. I so agree about the warm house and the food, though we are mostly drinking lots of coffee this morning. Really feel like cocooning today. Wish I had brought in more flowers as well, though you are much further along in the season than me.

    1. It is really warm here today. In the 30's but the wind chill is causing snow instead of rain. It may turn to rain soon we will see. I just hope it doesn't get really cold. That is what is so detrimental to the blooms.

  7. I like the deep orange centers on that first group of daffodils. Plenty bold. Nice photo of the hawk. They're amazing creatures to watch.

  8. Your narcissi are just the balm to weather these late winter squalls. March can be so unpredictable!

  9. I've been feeling a little behind everyone for a couple of weeks because my spring-blooming plants haven't bloomed yet (with the exception of a small patch of Snowdrops). Turns out maybe that was a good thing with all this snow and cold weather. I hear you, when it comes to feeling like the Cooper's Hawk, but also blessed to have a warm home and the creature comforts to make the day pleasant in spite of the weather. :)
